Naturo F is a 100% natural, biodegradable & food-grade finings solution, consisting of chitosan, a polysaccharide derived from the cell walls of fungi, notably mushrooms. By swiftly accelerating the sedimentation process of yeast and other haze-forming particles in the cold tank, Naturo F ensures perfect clarity in your wine or cider.
The main active ingredient (chitosan), is positively charged in acidic solution causing it to bind to negatively charged particles such as yeast. This results in a fast fining action, improving the clarity and stability of the wine or cider.
After fermentation has finished, ideally the wine or cider should be racked off or decanted from any sediment into a clean sterile container containing Naturo F allowing thorough mixing. The wine or cider should be allowed to stand for up to 24 hours.
During this time, a precipitate will form, and settle out to leave a clear product. The exact rate for a given wine or cider will vary according to your setup, the recipe and the types of yeasts and adjuncts used.
